Yeah I guess I just think reccomending something with not hearing either is not really the best way :-). Hence, my opinion is firm but I'd be interested to hear someone make a case for Strike. Digi boasts 300 samples per instrument whereas, if my math is correct, SD2 gives you 5120 (they claim 20 samples for each hand at each velocity on each source) and a playback engine that will not repeat the same sample within 20 hits. Not to mention the painstaking library that comes with SD2. Contrary to how Strike is set up, the last time I checked there weren't many knobs on a drumkit, there was just the drum, choice of beater and how you hit it.

It looks like you have to muddle your way through a lot of menus to make adjustments in Strike which would probably require significant manual reference whereas in SD2, if you've ever worked with a drumkit and you've ever worked with a DAW, you're good to go. The interface design I think is great for SD2. I've listened to those samples and I'm horribly unimpressed. The main reason I dislike Strike is because between it and SD2, one sounds like a nice drum machine and the other sounds like a real drum kit. For my personal workflow and to my ears, I prefer Toontrack. For that reason I tend to avoid Digi's plugins, but that's last on my list of reasons I don't like strike. I will skip Strike because I'm using primarily Logic at the moment. I'll be upgrading to Superior Drummer 2.0 in the near future. I've got EZ Drummer and some expansion packs. As a matter of fact I haven't tried either.
